A complex blend of Cabernet Sauvignon, Petit Verdot, Merlot and Cabernet Franc, the 2005 Victorian Claret is dark garnet in color, with cherry, raspberry and chocolate aromas. The flavors are similar, with medium soft tannins, and a little sweet oak.

Smoky fig, leather and sweet tobacco, star anise and clove.

Here's a very reasonably priced California Merlot that, you know, tastes like a California Merlot. Nice chocolate and cassis notes along with a hint of vanilla on the nose, make room for a palate that is equally plush as it is long. There's more black fruit on the palate than on the nose, with loads of blackberry and black cherry. This is a stellar little bottle of Merlot at a very great price.

On the nose are concentrated aromas of ripe cherry, plum and blackberry with backgrounds of tobacco, black licorice and a hint of cinnamon. On the palate, the bright acidity accentuates the dried red fruit flavors that are complemented by grilled portabella mushrooms and asian spice. The firm tannins provide a full mouth feel with a long, lingering finish.

This is a very pretty and balanced wine easily associated with the Russian River Valley. Deep red cherries, lavender, rose petals and herbs on the nose. Juicy, rounded mouth feel. A bit tight now but should open up nicely by release.

100% Tempranillo. Ruby colour with purplish notes. Powerful berry nose. Lively and youthful, intense berry / damson fruit, medium-bodied, well-balanced with hints of spice, finishing with a fine and pleasant aftertaste.

This Chenin Blanc is outstanding. Soft melons, lemon-lime and minerals are full and rich on the nose. Exuberant, full-bodied and juicy on the palate, with pear, lime and mounds of stones. Finishes with great acidity, balance and length to the chalky lime and melon notes. A "must try" California white.

Soft, gentle - almost caressing - with its pure strawberry and raspberry flavors. From its cherry red color to its smooth, round texture, this is sure to be a crowd pleaser. Yet, this wine has a little serious side too, offering complexity in its floral and candy aromas and black tea flavors.

This wine shines with a nice pale purple-red colour. Forest strawberries, herbes de Provence and cherries pair with bright acidity and supple tannins. Hints of licorice and plums linger on the finale. It is fresh and supple with elegant tannins. Enjoy this wine over the next few years.

It has lots of Blackberry, White Chocolate, and Coconut Oil. The latter two are using descriptors that I found coming from American Oak. The fruit is ripe but its structure is quite restrained which helps to balance out the 16.4% Alc. Overall, it is an outstanding wine.

This red wine, done in the southern Rhone style but in a California terroir, is a blend of 55% Syrah and 45% Grenache. Lots of ripe strawberry aromas with hints of field herbs like violets and lilacs, and spicy flavors of white pepper woven between layers of blueberry and rhubarb pie.

Bright and fresh nose, clove, licorice and white pepper, slight menthol. Crisp red currant and raspberry on the palate, well balanced with subtle acid at the finish with slight tannin. Delicious, and even better with food.

A purple color with garnet rim; intense, very complex bouquet with strong notes of raisins and prunes and hints of vanilla, cinnamon and cherry brandy; full, generous and very firm flavor with an elegant, lingering aftertaste of conserve and spices. It is already well developed, but can keep thanks to its firm and balanced structure.
