Chateau de Beaucastel
The wine displays some tannin, is medium to full-bodied, with lots of Provencal herbs, pepper, incense, blueberry and black currant fruit. It seemed to me that the Mourvedre was showing through strongly when I tasted it. The wine is long, rich, not one of the great vintages by any means, but still very well-made. This wine will need 2-3 years of cellaring and drink well for 15 or more.
eRobert Parker , SCORE : 89 - 92 /100
Powerful, expressive aromas of red- and blackcurrant, cherry and licorice, with suave anise and floral overtones. Juicy and precise, with tangy red and dark berry flavors, supple texture and a strong mineral note on the back. Spicy on the finish, which shows very good focus and length. This is impressively elegant and should be drinkable on the young side.

2007 Cabernet (Beckstoffer To Kalon Vineyard)
To Kalon is one of the most famous of the Beckstoffer Vineyards. Originally planted by Hamilton Crabb in 1968, it was acquired by Beckstoffer in 1993. The 89-acre vineyard is in Oakville, and is planted to Cabernet Sauvignon and Cabernet Franc. Beckstoffer Vineyards owns and farms more than 3,600 acres of highly prestigious grape growing vineyards in Napa Valley, Mendocino County and the Red Hills of Lake County. A senior executive with Heublein in the 1960s, Andy Beckstoffer is credited with steering Napa Valley vintners towards improving farming and the quality of the grapes used for wine. Grapes from any Beckstoffer vineyards are considered among the finest available in California.
2009 Cabernet Sauvignon
The core of the wine is Cabernet Sauvignon farmed on lower Howell Mountain by renowned Napa vineyard manager David Abreu. The meticulous practices employed by Abreu assure perfectly ripe fruit, and the particular site, soil, and exposure to sun produce a sensationally seductive and expressive wine.
Vineyard 7 & 8
The 2007 "Estate" Cabernet Sauvignon is a new wine that the Steffens Family and Luc Morlet decided to craft to highlight the unique character of the special "Vineyard 7 & 8" terroir.
Planted back in the early 1980's, the mature vines of the estate benefit from white volcanic tuff well drained soil, producing small concentrated clusters and berries. The resulting lots of barrels displayed intensity, complexity, richness and depth. Each vintage, the "Estate" wine is made to represent the best the estate has to offer. Built to age gracefully for several decades, the "Estate" Cabernet is a memory of a very special place. Enjoy and stay tuned!

Tenuta San Guido

Ample, sweet and expansive, the 2003 Sassicaia offers generous notes of sweet dark fruit intermingled with notes of spices, herbs, earthiness and smoke in a full-bodied, opulent expression of this wine. It is an outstanding effort for the vintage. Some cellaring is suggested although with air this wine is drinking beautifully right now. Anticipated maturity: 2008-2023. (2/ 2007)

Dark ruby-red. Very spicy aromas of ripe red cherry, cassis and cinnamon, with a hint of truffle. Quite supple on entry, then smooth and fine-grained in the middle, with superripe red fruit and sweet spice flavors. A forward, rich and supple style for Sassicaia, boasting tremendous length and still youthfully chewy but noble tannins. Finishes with hints of nutmeg, cinnamon and creamy vanilla. This is neither hot nor cooked, a real feat given the furnace-like conditions of 2003. Sebastiano Rosa told me that in 2003 the estate exercised extreme care in the vineyard, doing essentially no de-leafing, though a great deal of credit for the final result goes to the deep-rooted old vines that weathered the heat and drought-like conditions well. Those who prefer a more opulent style of Sassicaia will love this wine. Marquis Niccolo Incisa della Rocchetta feels that 2003 will prove to be a stellar cabernet vintage. 'Sassicaia does extremely well in off years, but needs a lot of bottle age to show well, he notes. But people don't have any patience anymore.' (1/ 2011)

Lots of raspberry and cherry on the nose. Full-bodied and chunky with lots of fruit and a long, velvety finish. Hints of new wood. Big and juicy Sassicaia. Very well done for the vintage. (7/ 2006)

*Cellar Selection* It's almost criminal to taste Sassicaia before its prime. The 2003 vintage should be ready after 2010. A blend of 85% Cab Sauvignon and 15% Cab Franc that aged 24 months in barrique, notes of cassis, exotic spice, menthol and green olive come through despite the hot vintage. It's powerful in the mouth with crispness and refined tannins. (9/ 2006)
(Bottled in 1997 - 21 Years in Cask)
"One of the rarest and best Madeiras yet produced. Excellent intensity and clarity of flavors. Fresh, clean and exquisitely balanced and mouthpleasing with a lingering finish.

2006 Enchanted Path
"The 2006 Shiraz (66%) - Cabernet Sauvignon (34%) "Enchanted Path" was made entirely from McLaren Vale fruit. Opaque purple-colored, the wine has a fragrant bouquet of pain grille, leather, smoked meat, game, blueberry, and blackberry. This is followed by a structured wine with intense, spicy black fruit flavors, full-body, and superb balance. It is still tightly wound and will benefit from 6-8 years of cellaring. This promising effort should drink well through 2030. "
94 Points | The Wine Advocate
"Supple in texture and deftly balanced despite its size, this is a big wine that dances smoothly on the palate, while showing off its rich cherry, blueberry and sweet spice flavors. The parts melt together seamlessly as the finish rolls on and on. Drink now through 2016."

2007 Oakville Cabernet Sauvignon
94% Cabernet Sauvignon | 4% Cabernet Franc | 2% Petit Verdot
According to Robert Parker: The finest Cabernet Sauvignon I have ever tasted from Far Niente may be the 2007 Estate. Its dense purple color is accompanied by fragrant aromatics of creme de cassis, spice box, underbrush, and forest floor. Voluptuously-textured and full-bodied with superb purity and depth as well as a layered, complete finish, this terrific wine should be drinkable before the 2006, but age just as long 20-25(plus) years. Tasting Notes - This wine offers intense aromas of blackberry and boysenberry along with licorice and perfume. A juicy and silky entry is followed by a velvety midpalate, rich with layers of ripe purple fruit and cassis. Well-integrated and melting tannins lead to a long and juicy finish.

2007 Cabernet Sauvignon
The fabulous, dense ruby/purple-tinged 2007 Cabernet Sauvignon Spring Mountain Estate offers up scents of cedarwood, creme de cassis, graphite and fruitcake. Again, elegance combined with power, a glorious, multilayered texture and a stunning finish result in a brilliant Cabernet that should drink beautifully for 15-20+ years.
